I’d like to go on record with my free agent predictions before any of the major players sign anywhere. It’ll be interesting to look back in a couple months and see how I do. Note, this list is not intended to be comprehensive and I reserve the right to add to it as I get ideas on more player. I promise I won’t change any of my predictions already listed. Without further ado:
- Albert Pujols: St. Louis Cardinals (c’mon, Albert’s not going anywhere)
- Prince Fielder: Seattle Mariners
- Jose Reyes: San Francisco Giants (just makes too much sense to not happen)
- Mark Buehrle: Miami Marlins
- CJ Wilson: New York Yankees (unfortunately)
- Carlos Beltran: Milwaukee Brewers (if Fielder leaves Milwaukee, Beltran is going there, if not, he’ll stay in San Fran)
- Jimmy Rollins: Philadelphia Phillies ( if Fielder leaves Milwaukee, he’s going there. If Reyes leaves New York, he could go there)
- Ryan Madson: Washington Nationals (gives them the flexibility to trade Drew Storen for a centerfielder)
- Aramis Ramirez: Miami Marlins (again, if Fielder leaves the Brewers, he could head there)
- David Ortiz: Boston Red Sox
- Heath Bell: San Diego Padres
- Roy Oswalt: Pittsburgh Pirates ( I know I’ll be wrong on this one but I already wrote about what a good idea it is)
- Rafael Furcal: New York Mets (Reyes’s short term replacement)
- Vladamir Guerrero: Seattle Mariners
- Yu Darvish: Staying in Japan
As I said, I’ll add to the list as I see fit (without changing what’s already there). Also, Sean will put his predictions up at some point.
