The Yankees are in Anaheim so I watched the game with a bunch of my friends last night. A few of us are avid baseball fans and really enjoyed watching Jared Weaver absolutely carve up the the strike zone with darting 2 seem fastballs that made lefties jump away from the plate and sweeping breaking balls that even the catcher had trouble corralling
but the conversation about the game kept coming back to the Angels baseball caps. The Angels were wearing their 1961 throwback unis and there was something odd about the hats. As seen at right, the hats had a white halo in piping around the top. I can safely say that I’ve never seen anything like that. It looked like the Angels got in a silly string fight before the game, like the clubhouse attendant forgot to take the cobwebs off the hats before he gave them out. They were hilariously distracting. Who thought that was a good idea? I guess there was a very different sense of fashion in 1961.
