As promised, last night we held our All Time Baseball Draft. It took about an hour and a half even after the first 3 rounds flew by. We selected 8 position players, a designated hitter, 3 starting pitchers, 2 relief pitchers, 3 bench spots which could be either a pitcher or position player, and a manger. Draft order was picked out of a hat.
Judging solely by the draft results, it seems that Willie Mays is the greatest baseball player of all time. We will definitely provide much more draft analysis going forward, this post is just to publish the draft results. We have asked each drafter to write a short piece about their teams, their draft strategy, their strengths and weaknesses, etc and to get that to us ASAP. We will publish them as they come in, most likely.
We also recorded the entire draft and we are going to post it as a podcast later today.
We’re really excited about this project and we’re going to keep posting about it. Keep reading and let us know what you think.
