Here’s our first draft recap from the All Time Baseball draft. It’s from Joe Lovizio, we think he did a great job with it:

Is my team the best team from the all-time draft? Hard to say. Every team has so many dominant players from so many different eras that it would be impossible to really prove who has the best team. So instead of wasting my time arguing, I’m just going to give you some facts in the form of a little thing known as statistics. What I did was I took the 162 game average stat line for each of my players, and compiled them into averages and totals for each stat. The results are as follows:
– The team average, starters only, is .320 with a .924 OPS.
– The starters averaged 189 hits per player, 1702 total.
– The starters averaged 23 home runs per player, 210 total.
– The starters averaged 106 RBIs per player, 953 total.
– The starters averaged 13 stolen bases per player, 115 total.
– Counting the bench players, my team would have 272 stolen bases, making an average of 23 per player. (That’s what happens when I have Lou Brock and Billy Hamilton on the bench. Hamilton had a 162 average of 93 stolen bases, almost 20 more than Rickey Henderson.)
-The pitchers average win total is 14, counting relievers.
-The pitchers era is 2.86 and their collective whip is 1.16.
Strengths: Average has to be my team’s biggest strength on the offensive end, considering Ripken and Brock are the only players with sub .300 averages. Counting Lou Brock and Billy Johnson, I would say stolen bases and speed are definitely another strength, since I have 3 of the top 4 stolen base leaders of all time. My team also knows how to drive in runs. As far as pitching, I have 2 300 game winners and 1 400 game winner, and collective sub 3 era. I think that’s all I have to say…
Weaknesses: Lacking somewhat in the category of home runs, I guess? 3 500 home run club guys is definitely not enough. With pitching I would say the strikeouts are a bit low, despite having two guys in the top 10 in that category.
Best Pick: Vlad, 14th round.
Worst Pick: George Brett, 4th round. (great player, picked him too early.)
*did not take the time out to look into fielding, oh well.
**now I did, 21 total gold gloves, not important that 18 of those are from Maddux.
