My recent post lauding the brilliance and foresight behind the Dodgers acquisition of utility infielder Chone Figgins sparked a bit of a Twitter kerfuffle today. Esteemed tweeter and baseball analyst @HighHeatStats (a great follow by the way) teamed up with some guy (@JTDutch) to effectively counter my argument about the low risk in the Figgins signing. Apparently, having Figgins in spring training will deplete the Dodgers’ ‘resources’ and presumably take a spot away from a younger guy with more upside.
While I stand firmly behind my original post, I will admit that Sean and I were pretty well smacked in this, our first Twitter War.
