Chien-Ming Wang is scheduled to make his first start in more than 2 years on Friday. From the beginning, I said that signing Wang was a good move for the Nationals, even though it didn’t work out last season as he didn’t throw a pitch at any level. Wang was one of the best pitchers in the majors for four years with the Yankees, he won 19 games twice over that span and finished second in the Cy Young voting once. If he can regain even some of that form in Washington, he can help the Nationals immensely. Think of him as the three starter behind Jordan Zimmerman and Stephen Strasburg and you can see the potential upside for the Nats.
